Starting Point: Pokhara to Annapurna Base Camp

Your adventure begins in Pokhara, Nepal’s picturesque lakeside city. From there, a short drive to Naya Pul kicks off the journey. As you head toward Ghandruk, enjoy vibrant orchids and iconic mountain views of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri. Ghandruk also offers a cultural deep dive with its Gurung Museum.

Then, continue to Machapuchare Base Camp (MBC) and finally reach Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) at 4,130 meters.


Return Journey Through Rhododendron Forests

On your return, descend through blooming rhododendron forests, pass serene waterfalls, and stroll through charming mountain villages. The trek concludes in Naya Pul, followed by a scenic drive back to Pokhara.

Itinerary

Day 01 :

  • Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu.
  • Meet our representative and transfer to your hotel.
  • Rest and recover from your flight.
  • Pre-trek briefing and final preparation for the journey.
Day 02 :

  • Early morning drive through scenic countryside along rivers and hills.
  • Stop for local meals and short breaks during the journey.
  • Arrive in Pokhara, a beautiful lakeside city with mountain views.
  • Free time to explore Lakeside or relax by Phewa Lake.
Day 03 :

  • Short drive (1.5–2 hours) from Pokhara to Nayapul, the trek starting point.
  • Begin trekking along the Modi Khola river through small villages.
  • Pass through Birethanti and continue uphill to Hile.
  • Stay overnight in a teahouse with views of nearby hills and fields.
Day 04 :

  • Steady uphill climb through rhododendron and oak forests.
  • Pass through the traditional Magar village of Ulleri.

  • Gradual ascent with increasing altitude and stunning views.
  • Reach Machhapuchhre Base Camp (MBC), surrounded by towering peaks.
Day 09 :

  • Early start to reach Annapurna Base Camp (ABC), a breathtaking amphitheater of mountains.

  • After breakfast, descend all the way back to Dobhan for overnight stay.

Day 11 :

  • Cross a suspension bridge and follow the trail along the Modi River.

  • Short trek to the nearby road access point above Landruk.
  • Board a jeep for a scenic drive back to Pokhara.

  • Drive back to Kathmandu with scenic views along the highway.
  • Transfer to your hotel.

Frequently asked questions

The trek is considered moderate. It involves daily walking of 5–7 hours with some steep ascents and descents. No prior trekking experience is necessary, but a reasonable level of fitness is recommended. The trail is well-established and does not involve technical climbing. With some preparation. Many families with children aged 10 and above complete this trek successfully. We adjust the pace and support to fit the group’s needs.

The best seasons are:

  • Spring (March to May): Clear skies, blooming rhododendrons, pleasant temperatures.

  • Autumn (September to November): Stable weather, excellent mountain views, peak season.

Avoid the monsoon (June–August) due to rain and leeches, and winter (late December–February) can be very cold at higher altitudes.

You’ll need two permits:

  • Annapurna Conservation Area Permit (ACAP)

  • Trekkers’ Information Management System (TIMS) Card

We will arrange these for you before the trek begins.

Altitude sickness is possible but less common compared to higher treks like Everest Base Camp. The highest point is Annapurna Base Camp at 4,130 meters. We follow a gradual ascent to allow proper acclimatization, and your guide will monitor your health throughout the trek.

Essentials include:

  • Comfortable trekking boots

  • Warm clothing (layers, down jacket, gloves, hat)

  • Rain jacket and windbreaker

  • Trekking poles (optional but helpful)

  • Water purification tablets or bottle

  • Basic first aid and personal items
