Overview

The Mount Everest Base Camp Trek is one of our most rewarding journeys for anyone looking for an adventurous holiday in the Nepal, Everest region of the Himalayas. This Everest region is arguably one of the greatest trekking destinations for adventure seekers and offers the best opportunity to immerse you in the Himalayan experience and culture. Everest Base Camp Trek is designed to fulfill your dream of traveling the historic route to the base of the world’s highest mountain while spending time with the local people. Our expert consultants provide you with the opportunity to visit both Everest Base Camp and see the world from the breathtaking summit of Kalapathar (5550m), providing endless views of Mount Everest and the surrounding Himalayan range.

The trek itinerary is specifically tailored to include some remote trails along the far side of the Khumbu valley, places many other standard treks never visit. At the start of your trip, you will have a luxury day to explore the vibrant city of Kathmandu before flying into the remote airstrip of Lukla (9,186 feet) and beginning your trek into the Khumbu region of the Himalayas. We follow an ancient route that takes us through farm villages, across valleys, past breathtaking waterfalls, and through the high mountains and historic monasteries. The views grow even more spectacular as we venture up the Dudh Kosi River to Namche Bazaar, the gateway to the Khumbu region. We spend a night next to the western valley of Thame, a popular village for famous climbers, enjoying the monastery, wildlife, and beautiful Himalayan scenery close-up before trekking on to the hidden villages of Khunde and Khumjung. The trail leads us to the Tengboche monastery, where you will be rewarded with spectacular, 360-degree views of Ama Dablam, Mount Everest & Lhotse, Thamserku, Kwangde, Tawache, Khumbila, and Kwandge along with the magnificent Tyangboche Monastery. The route follows the Imaj Valley to Dingboche and up to the unbelievable viewpoints of Kalapathar and Everest Base Camp with return to Lukla via the Phortse village. This is a journey not to be missed.

The Mount Everest trekking region is situated in the Sagarmatha National Park, listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, and offering spectacular views of the highest mountains in the world and the chance to mingle with friendly Sherpa people. Himalayan wildlife commonly seen are musk dear, mountain goats, colorful pheasants and perhaps even the rare species of Red Panda & Snow Leopard, not to mention the ever present yaks of the higher elevations. Pine, Juniper, and Birch trees will surround you as you trek through the forested areas and colorful rhododendron flowers will welcome you in the spring. Monasteries, prayer wheels, mani stones, and fluttering prayer flags line your route providing an opportunity to explore your spirit as you challenge your body in the peace and beauty of the Himalayas.
