The Ghorepani Poon Hill package is a short and companionable trek of the beautiful Annapurna region. The region is blessed with majestic peaks like Gangapurna, Annapurna I, II, III, Annapurna South, The Nilgiri Peak, Dhaulagiri Mountain, Machhapuchhre Himal and much more. All of which can be digested taking a slow breath and glimpse. Altogether with Ghorepani and Poonhill, the seductive Rhododendron in a bloom and alpine vegetation of cedar, birch, and juniper sings and dances with chanting birds. The local traditions and custom, Monasteries, Gumbas, Chaityas, Bihars ornamented beautifully with enclosed prayer flags have never let anyone down in its history.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu

Our representative will receive you at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu and will transfer you to the hotel. If you are fresh enough and not tired by the journey, you can take a short walk over Thamel and enjoy the evening. Overnight in a hotel.

Day 02: Kathmandu sightseeing

Our tour and trekking plan begins from the second day of your arrival and that is today! You visit Kathmandu which is also known as a city of Temples along with an experienced English speaking guide. Primarily, there are four touring destinations in Kathmandu such as Kathmandu Durbar Square, Pashupatinath temple, Swoyambhunath stupa (Monkey temple) and Boudhanath stupa. All of these places are UNESCO listed World Heritage Site. On this day, Adventure Challenge Centre will introduce you with your trekking guide and he will brief you about trekking. Similarly, you can experience the nightlife of Kathmandu and enjoy a local meal, if interested. Overnight in a hotel. You can experience the nightlife of Kathmandu. There will be a pre-trip discussion with your mountain climbing Sherpa guides for the good preparation of the trek.

Day 03: Drive to Pokhara

After having breakfast, we leave Kathmandu travel for Pokhara. We will travel in a private vehicle or a tourist bus. It is a beautiful ride of around six or seven hours where you will enjoy the countryside of Nepal. You will go along Trishuli River. The view of Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) mountain before entering Pokhara will make your trip worthy. By noon you will be at Pokhara which is famous for a city of Lakes. You get an opportunity to walk at lakeside. Boating is another option at Phewa Lake. You can also visit Davis Fall in Pokhara. You will spend a night in a hotel in Pokhara.

Day 04: Drive to Nayapul and Trek to Tikhedhunga

After having breakfast in the morning, we leave Pokhara for Nayapul. We will travel in a private vehicle or a taxi. It is a beautiful ride of around 1 and half hours where you will enjoy the countryside of Nepal. The view of Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) mountain before entering Nayapul will make your trip worthy. It is the starting point of our Tikhedhunga Trekking. Tikhedhunga is our destination and today where we will be spending a night. A 15 minutes’ walk along the bank of Modi Khola (river) will take us to Birethanti. There are many tea shops and teahouses here. Furthermore, we follow the north bank course of Bhurungdi Khola. A steady climb will take us to Hille and Tikhedhunga is a short climb around 5 hours from here.

Day 05: Tikhedunga – Ghorepani

Our trail begins after breakfast and Ulleri is our first destination today. Located at an altitude of 2,070 m Ulleri is a village with a majority of Magar people. They are one of the indigenous people of Nepal. We move upward to reach Banthanti. Crossing beautiful forests of oak and rhododendron we arrive at Nangethanti. An hour walk further walk will take us to Ghorepani where we will accommodate today. In past days, Ghorepani used to be a trade route place where people used to take their horse for water. The literal meaning off ‘Ghore’ is Horse and ‘Pani’ refers to water.

Day 06: Ghorepani – Poon Hill – Tadapani

We rise early in the morning and walk an hour to reach Poon Hill. It is a worldwide renowned hill station popular for sunrise/sunset view. Besides, to experience the clear and unobstructed beauty of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri, it is a right destination. It is a place where you find yourself above clouds. We will spend around an hour here. We return to Ghorepani for breakfast. Now we ascend and pass through pine and rhododendron forests to be at Deurali. Banthanti is our next on the way stop. We finally reach Tadapani where we will halt for the night.

Day 07: Tadapani – Ghandrunk

We walk through dense bamboo and rhododendron forests. Ghandruk is inhabited by Gurung people. They are brave warrior people and most of them are found in Nepal army. We will visit Gurung museum in Ghadruk. Overnight in Ghandruk.

Day 08: Ghandruk – Nayapul – Pokhara

Today, we descend along Modi Khola to reach Nayapul. We hire a vehicle from Nayapul to reach Pokhara. Overnight in Pokhara.

Day 09: Drive back to Kathmandu

Today, early in the morning after breakfast we will drive back to Kathmandu. We will follow the same route which took us to Pokhara. You will enjoy the evening with the staff of Adventure Challenge as the company will offer you farewell dinner for the successfully accomplishing the trip.

Day 10: Back to your destination

Here ends your Ghorepani Poon Hill Trekking today. Our representative will drop you to the airport three hours before the scheduled flight to your onward destination. See you again!!
