Overview

The Ama Dablam Expedition (6,812 m) is one of Nepal’s most iconic and visually striking climbing adventures. Known worldwide as the Matterhorn of the Himalayas,” Ama Dablam is admired for its sharp ridges, steep faces, and perfect pyramid shape. This expedition is designed for experienced climbers looking for a challenging, technical, and rewarding Himalayan ascent.

Journey Into the Everest Region

Your adventure begins with a scenic flight to Lukla, the gateway to the Everest (Khumbu) region. The trek to Ama Dablam Base Camp follows the classic Everest trail, passing through Phakding, Namche Bazaar, Tengboche, and Pangboche. Along the way, you’ll enjoy stunning landscapes, Sherpa hospitality, and visits to important cultural sites like Tengboche Monastery.
This gradual ascent ensures proper acclimatization before reaching Base Camp at 4,570 meters.

Technical Climbing Experience

Ama Dablam is considered a technical mountaineering peak, requiring previous high-altitude experience (6,000m+). The climbing route involves exposed rock sections, snow ridges, ice climbing, and mixed terrain. Over several days, you will establish:

  • Camp I (5,700 m)
  • Camp II (5,900 m)
  • Camp III (6,300 m)

With guidance from our IFMGA/NMA-certified Sherpa climbers, you will receive training at Base Camp, practice rope techniques, and prepare for the summit push.

Summit Day of Ama Dablam

Summit day is the highlight of the expedition, offering breathtaking views of Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Cho Oyu, and the entire Khumbu region. The final ascent requires focus and technical skills, but the reward is a truly unforgettable Himalayan panorama. After reaching the summit, you descend safely to Base Camp.

Full Support & Safety

Adventure Challenge Centre provides full logistics, including tents, climbing equipment, meals, Sherpa support, medical kits, and communication devices. Safety is always our top priority, with careful planning, proper rest days, and expert supervision throughout the expedition.
