One of the options to witness the wildlife closely here in Nepal is Chitwan National Park. Bird-Sighting and One-horned Rhino is the main attraction of Chitwan National Park. Many travelers visit Chitwan with the idea of sighting various endangered species of birds and animals.
The national park habitats dense elephant grass interspersed with forest of silk, cotton, acacia and sisam trees. Home to different species of animals like One-horned Rhino, Bengal Tiger, Deer, Sloths, Rhexus Monkey, Wild Boar, Jackals, Mongoose, Wild Cats, Snakes and more, Chitwan National Park offers sightseeing of these animals either in a walk, Elephant Ride or a Jeep Safari. Elephant ride being the safest and cheaper option to lure through the forest, observing the wildlife is easier. Canoe trip along the Rapti River is also another attraction where one floats down the river in a dugout canoe enabling travelers to watch birds and fish eating Gharial Crocodiles that can be seen sunbathing on the banks of river.
Chitwan National Park is a bird watcher’s paradise as more than 400 migrant and local birds can be seen such as Cormorants, Herons, Egrets, Storks, Cranes, Ducks, Woodpeckers, Hawks, Ospreys, Falcons and more.
